    The Ceiling by Melodie Yvonne

You break my fucking heart and then chastise for having feelings
You slice my soul wide open then you yelled at me for bleeding
But still somehow I miss you and my body aches for leaving
And all I can do is cry now and just stare up at the ceiling

My knees are breaking from all of the time that I spent kneeling
The part of me I gave I didn’t know that you were stealing
But every single tear I’ve cried would all be worth repeating
If I thought for just one second it’d help you with your healing

But every single second was a second you were leading
Collecting all of me wasn’t enough, you got so greedy
You got me all addicted, but then turned and called me needy
Screamed at me you needed air and then you guilted me for breathing

You told me you need space, but won’t give me the space I’m needing
I thought I was in love with you, but love is so deceiving
I tried to douse our dumpster fire, but you just gasoline it
So all I can do is cry now and just stare up at the ceiling

    Another Round by Melodie Yvonne

Here on my own I sit again
Another round of quit at end
And I can’t keep myself from going under

    I need help, something divine
Hope falls with tears and fades with time
And I just don’t think I can take another

Please lift me up before I fall
Leave me ’fore I rebuild walls
Let me go, but promise not to leave me

    Stop this neverending ache
Love so hard I never break
And maybe make it not so hard to be me

One Fine Day by Melodie Yvonne

You call it honesty I call it gaslighting
You speak the truth, but you use it misleadingly
Where is the line that you balance so freeingly?
One fucking push would have you on your fucking knees

All that I gave you it wasn’t enough and I’m
sick of your bullshit just like I am sick of mine
I gave it all to you and you stole all my time
Push me away and then pull back and draw a line

I’m fucking dizzy from all your mixed signals and
I just can’t stand bein’ on this damn ride again
I didn’t sign up to be your dumb fucking friend
but I feel stupid again and again and again

One fucking day maybe you’ll finally bleed like me
You’ll be in pain and I’ll be here in ecstasy
One fucking day you will see what you’ve done to me
but it’s too late now to mend all this broken me

One fucking day maybe I can forget ‘bout you
Hope for your sake you can finally forget me too
One fucking day I hope we’re fucking finally through
if I can ever say fuck it to loving you

    Huffing Fumes by Melodie Yvonne

My pumpin’ heart’s so loud here in this quiet, lonely house
The passing cars light up the walls and splash it all around
The crickets getting louder still don’t cover up my sin
And I can’t believe I banged my head against this wall again

The bottle’s in the other room alive and chillin’ out
My girl in Alabama got Xanax on tap like stout
And all I gotta do is get some drive to drive some time
Then I’m in over my head again like sis at 5 & Dime

I’m numb as fuck, but still somehow still feelin’ all the pain
I wouldn’t take it back, though, I’d still feel it all again
‘Cause with this crushing sadness comes my very favorite sin
And I’d rip out my own fucking heart to go back there again

I try to push, but everything just pushes back at me
I try to float away, but still somehow just fallin’ free
Please just let me stay I know it’s over when I leave
You choke me out, but you’re the only air I need to breathe

My pumpin’ heart’s so loud here in this quiet, lonely house
The passing cars light up the walls and splash it all around
The crickets gettin’ louder still don’t cover up my sin
But I’d rip out my own fucking heart to be with you again

This Day and Next by Melodie Yvonne

Time drags on forever in this lonely time and next
No matter how I’m trying I still feel like I’m a mess
And I just keep on thinkin’ ‘bout the seconds I got left
Wishin’ I could give up hopin’ so it’d hurt a lil less

Wishin’ I could give up hopin’ so it’d hurt a lil less
Wishin’ I could give up thinkin’ ‘bout you all this day and next
Wishin’ I could just be near you, but my every answer’s yes
And I just don’t wanna know you so it’d hurt a little less

I just don’t wanna know you so it’d hurt a little less
I wish that I could take back all these feelings I got left
Time drags on forever in this lonely time and next
And no matter how I’m trying I still feel like I’m a mess

I know I don’t deserve you ‘cause I’m just a piece of shit
And everywhere I go but you I’m really fakin’ it
But every time I see you my heart falls outside my chest
Wishin’ I could give up hopin’ so it’d hurt a little less

Wishin’ I could give up hopin’ so it’d hurt a lil less
Wishin’ I could give up thinkin’ ‘bout you all this day and next
Wishin’ I could just be near you, but my every answer’s yes
And I just don’t wanna know you so it hurts a little less

  • Urban Ostrich

    Urban Ostrich by Melodie Yvonne

I love you so much I can’t fucking sleep
Eyes open or shut you’re all I can see
My fan is so old it won’t block out the sound
Of my obsessive thoughts flying around

You’re all that I think about all of the time
I’d be fucking broke if there was a fine
I know all my thoughts are way out of line
But I’d fight to the death if you were the prize

‘Cause it’s just not worth living if you’re not around
You make me feel lights, put the colors in sounds
Your eyes twinnin’ mine so I see you around
but it’s breakin’ me down that you don’t make a sound

I thought I was doin’ it right by the book
I never did touch you, just snuck a few looks
But I’m just a liar and I fell from grace
The second that my back porch light hit your face

I’d say it all sooner if time would rewind
I thought it was your fault, but know it’s all mine
I told you I’d move on and let it all go
But you’re all that I ever wanted to know

It’s just not worth living when you’re not around
You make me feel lights, put the colors in sounds
Your eyes twinnin’ mine so I see you around
but it’s breakin’ me down that you don’t make a sound

Yeah it’s breakin’ me down that you dont make a sound

    Untitled Lust by Melodie Yvonne

I can’t wait forever, but I’ll wait tonight
‘Cause somethin’ is grabbin’ a hold of me right
I’m shiverin’ warm, pulse quickening pace
Thoughts I shouldn’t have, but don’t wanna erase

I’m feelin’ you & you’re feelin’ me, so why
do we gotta wallow in this misery
I’m just here fightin’ it best that I can
You’re my favorite addiction, you’re my kind of man

I just can’t help it, lust’s my favorite sin
If you crack that door open I’ll let you cum in
You’re all that I think about writhin’ around
My desire overpowering, screamin’ out loud

I just wanna quit you, but can’t get enough
I never thought stayin’ away’d be so tough
You’re my favorite addiction, you’re all that I am
And I can’t fucking wait to be near you again

I’m feelin’ you & you’re feelin’ me, so why
do we gotta wallow in this misery
I’m just here fightin’ it best that I can
You’re my favorite addiction, you’re my kind of man

You are my favorite addiction again and again

I can’t wait forever, but I’ll wait tonight
‘Cause the way that you do it, you do it so right
I’m shivering warm, pulse quickening pace
    Thoughts I shouldn’t have that I just can’t erase

    Untitled Coveting by Melodie Yvonne

His smile, it melts the coldest heart
And his touch even gives mine a start
He makes me somehow feel so safe
And I can’t stop thinking of his face

And I need him… Oh please God I wanna see him

My mind shuts off when he’s around
His calm allays my shaky ground
    Everything he says is right
And I wish this was an endless night

Just one more chance to feel the touch
Of everything I want so much
    He’s everything I wanna need
    222 away from me

    And I need him… Everything that I see’s him

His smile, it melts the coldest heart
And his touch even gives mine a start
He makes me somehow feel so safe
And I can’t stop thinking of his face

Southport Rd 13 by Melodie Yvonne

Sometimes I just wanna sit with my train wreck by the light of my dumpster fire
Sometimes even though I’m already high I just wannna get higher and higher
Sometimes when I’ve just got too much to do I sit down and do nothing at all
And I still just don’t know why the fuck I still wish that you’re dumb fucking ass would just call

Sometimes I just wanna go back to that trailer on the dark side of CSL
Dig me a hole way down deep in that party bowl ‘til I forget that I fell
But I just can’t give in ‘cause it never’d end and I’m aready goin’ to hell
Fallin’ over and over right through the floor of my dirty back barn room well

Were you thinkin’ ‘bout me or just ‘bout yourself, would it’d changed anything if I’d tried
Do you even regret for a second you left without ever saying goodbye
Do you think ‘bout me or wonder if I’m sittin’ here thinkin’ ‘bout you
‘Cause, baby, I still miss you so fucking much and this missin’ you’s givin’ me blues

Should I wait here for you ‘til the ends of the earth or just go right ahead & jump off
Should I wallow in silence down deep in the ditches or scream out your name from the top
Maybe you love me, but probably not and there’s just too much room left for doubt
I should give all my hope to a fifth of Patron & just let it all work itself out

Are you thinkin’ ‘bout me or just ‘bout yourself, ‘cause I’m here about to get fucked
Do you even regret for a second you left without even tryin’ to get sucked
Do you think ‘bout me or wonder if I’m sittin’ here thinkin’ ‘bout you
‘Cause baby I still miss you so fucking much and this missin’ you still gives me blues

When will I be done I just wanna have fun and burn everything I have left
I guess I like torture ‘cause I don’t know why I just can’t fucking let me forget
The sun and the moon just can’t love each other ’cause then I guess everything’d end
But I’d rather it be over right fucking now than just have to sit here and pretend
