Senseless by Melodie Yvonne

Listen to me fall apart
One tug, one string around my heart
Listen to me crumble down
‘Round all this sadness I have found

Watch me shrink and back away
So you don’t see my slow decay
Watch me turn into a ghost
And vacate this most gracious host

Feel me pull and disconnect
So I won’t be a mental pest
Feel me slide and fall and hide
From your sweet whim that I abide

Take a taste of what I gave
To turn your heartless soul my way
Savor all my soul that’s left
An unrequited psycho mess

Breathe in of this sweet vanilla
Wafting upwards toward your pillar
Take a breath for you of me
Then exhale out and set me free

Take A Breath by Melodie Yvonne

Just take a breath and finally say goodbye
Let me go don’t look me in the eye
Tell me that you’ll finally set me free
And snap this tethered string from you to me

Just take a breath and watch me walk away
You never heard the things my heart would say
You never listened to my soul that prayed
Your gaze is just a thinly veiled charade

Just take a breath and time to run and hide
Follow these bright headlights through the night
These lights that show how brightly I can see
The path I need to run away and leave

Just take a breath again I’m here alone
This lonely sound proof room that is my home
I’m shackled and my meat is worn to bone
But I know I can’t get hurt here on my own

I’m swimming in you
Swimming in you
With devotion so true
Until I wake up
And realize again
Time has run out
You left in the end

Now it’s my broke
Apocalypse
My eclipsed sunshine trip
My fucking life to live
Now how I want to live

Tryin’ to ride life
Like I’m on the rails
But how do I know you’re
Not blowin’ the sails
Shouldn’t have put you up
High on that shelf
Cause you fell right off
And I’m still by myself

And it’s my broke
Apocalypse
My eclipsed sunshine trip
My fucking life to live
Now how I want to live

When You Smile by Melodie Yvonne

When I am old and I forget the things that caused me hurt
Don’t remind me of the truth that’s plagued me from my birth

When I am old and all alone and don’t remember why
Tell me that it was my choice to not just pick some guy

When I am old and all my thoughts are grey and kinda rainy
Lie to me about the end and say it’s ever-changing

And when I’m tired and all the stars above have called me home
Know that I am proud of you and how well you have grown

Hear me in the wind outside as melodies on chimes
Sing one note and I’ll be there like Fezzik to a rhyme

Dance and giggle, feel with all your soul and then use mine
Shed not a tear and in your mirror you’ll see me when you smile

Sun Paint Memories by Melodie Yvonne

He returns my smile with a steadfast stare
I look away, I mustn’t dare

Unfaltering is his seeming nature
I succumb to godlike stature

Tidal waves from brain to tip toes
Rush of passion fills my deep soul

And then in my dark innermost
Lust on fire swallows this host

His eyes pierce through and deep invade me
All my thoughts get lost and hazy

Then my eyes see aura’s mystery
I succumb, my heart is history

Never mind these thoughts I’m thinkin’
Hear his smile and hope escapes me

Then I walk from him descending
Sabotage to reach my ending

Don’t cry, though, I’ve made my memories
One day when I will forget me

Sun paint pictures make my history
And I’ll love the me that made me

Tension Climbs Like Rain by Melodie Yvonne

Tension climbs my shoulder blades
especially when it rains

Descending makes me quite insane
and my attention fades

My neck is tight and shooting flames
up my spine into my brain

Behind my eyes I feel the pain
They’d shoot a horse if it’s this lame

My verbiage just increases things
my hollow skull reverberates

It eats my teeth and half my face
and everyone smells outta place

Then at an obscene quickened pace
I’m all consumed and all deranged

My body’s just a ball of waste
and disdain laces my soul’s taste

I close my eyes and hibernate
like writhing worms rejuvenate

And realize that it’s just too late
for agony has sealed my fate

The Cuddle Fish by Melodie Yvonne

You never knew how to love us right
or not love us at all
You were always all or nothing
not knowing love is all

You were lost and couldn’t find us
‘cause we weren’t down in a glass
You were blind and couldn’t see us
Until the “us” was past

Your peacock colored feathers won’t hide the wrong you done
Take your alcoholic feelings with you when you’re gone

Then one day you sobered up
And tried to come around
But your baby girl was old enough
She didn’t hear a sound

She said dear daddy you fucked up
And now my wings are gone
She said dear daddy I’m too old now
You waited far too long

Your peacock colored feathers won’t hide the wrong you done
Take your junkie feelings out of here now that you’re gone

I’m just scared when I’m talkin’ to you
“Don’t be scared,” he says, and I’m caught
Scared to walk away and stop lookin’ at you

‘Cause that’s it and that’s all that I got
Just this feeling I get when I’m lookin’ at you,
and I wonder how good it’s not
so I can forget these sweet things that you do

Now my heart’s out and starting to rot
The right place at the right time’s so few,
I’m just tryin’ to make my brain stop
dissecting the labyrinth encompassing you

‘Cause that’s it and that’s all that I got
Just this feeling I get when I’m lookin’ at you,
and I wonder how good it’s not
so I can forget these sweet things that you do

Bought talent goes straight to the top
I see my attraction for you,
but I wanna believe that it’s not
‘cause I’m a real girl gettin’ swallowed by you

But that’s it and that’s all that I got
Just this crazy electric jolt comin’ from you,
and I’m wondering what is the cost?
How can I forget these sweet things that you do?

I guess part of me wants to stay lost
It’s safer just being collected by you
Stop thinking, let you call the shots,
and sleep walk through your woven dreams without you

Just this feeling I’ve lost and I’m swallowed by you,
and I found out how good it’s not
