Words from a gonzoesque life in an oh so gonzoless world

  • Lookin’ At Stars, Lookin’ At You

Originally published online July 16, 2017 & in the print collection Photographic Memories: Deux Mille Dix-Sept — available here

I miss the starlit sky at night
All blinded by these city lights
That sky I could just watch for miles
And dream of days I was a child

And feel those feelings all again
    Before we lost our innocence
And feel the way I sometimes do
When lookin’ through these eyes at you

Give me now just one more second
Please don’t leave me here just beggin’
Let me feel the way I do
Lookin’ at stars, lookin’ at you

    Is there anybody else
That feels the way that I have felt
Just geekin’ on that clear night sky
    Forever’s just a blinking eye

Just prayin’ to get lost in space
Like when im lookin’ in your face
And wishin’ far away the dawn to
Dream of you a little longer

Give me now just one more second
Please don’t leave me here just beggin’
Let me feel the way I do
Lookin’ at stars, lookin’ at you

Give me now just one more second
Please don’t leave me here just beggin’
Let me feel the way I do
Lookin’ at stars, lookin’ at you

Just let me feel the way I do
Lookin’ at stars, lookin’ at you

  • Sing to Me Sweetly

Originally published online July 12, 2017 & in the print collection Photographic Memories: Deux Mille Dix-Sept — available here

I feel you in me, deep in my soul
When everything else starts to rot
I feel you in me, deep in my mind and
Your dreadfull webs got me all caught

I feel you in me, deep in my heart and
I might not be missing a thing
But I feel you in me, deep intertwined
When those lips part and you start to sing

Sing to me softly just don’t ever stop
I know what’s best, but then maybe it’s not
Keep right on singing those sweet words to me
‘Cause your melody’s my only place to be free

I feel you in me, deep in my soul
When everything else starts to rot
I feel you in me, deep in my mind and
Your dreadfull webs got me all caught

I feel you in me, deep in my heart and
I might not be missing a thing
But I feel you in me, deep intertwined
When those lips part and you start to sing

Sing to me softly just don’t ever stop
I know what’s best, but then maybe it’s not
Keep right on singing those sweet words to me
Let your melody carry me home ‘til I’m free

Yeah just keep right on singing those sweet words to me
‘Til we’re finally as one and as one we are free

  • Don’t Care If You Love Me

Originally published online July 11, 2017 & in the print collection Photographic Memories: Deux Mille Dix-Sept — available here

    I never say stuff I don’t mean
But sometimes don’t say what I do
Especially when starin’ in those big blue eyes
I don’t say what I’m thinkin’ to you

My words speak as loud as my deeds
‘Cause words I’ll not say lest I do
My words are my bond and they are what I am
So believe what I’m saying to you

Believe when I say that I’m walking away
Believe me your words are all crumbling
Your actions speak louder than I’ll ever hear
And I’m not even sure if you love me

It’s all just enough for right now
I feel like I’m payin’ my dues
But don’t be mistaken ill not be your lady and
I’m far passed done being used

My cards are all out on the table
And now I got nothin’ to lose
So do you worst with unquenchable thirst
I’m so numb I can’t feel your abuse

Believe when I say that I’m walking away
Believe me your words are all crumbling
Your actions speak louder than I’ll ever hear
And I finally know now you don’t love me

    I never say stuff I don’t mean
But sometimes don’t say what I do
Especially when starin’ in those big blue eyes
I don’t say what I’m thinkin’ to you

I’m scared to be lonely or with you
I don’t wanna choose one or choose two
But I just keep starin’ in those big ole blue eyes
And I just don’t know if we’re through

Believe when I say I’m not walking away
Believe me your words are still crumbling
Your actions speak louder than I’ll ever hear
But I finally don’t care if you love me

Oh no I finally don’t care if you love me
I stay ‘cause I finally don’t care if you love me

  • Write

Originally published online July 8, 2017 & in the print collection Photographic Memories: Deux Mille Dix-Sept — available here

    Dedicated to Vernie Long ❤ ❤ ❤

“Write” is what’s emblazoned here upon this shy book cover
“Write” is what is foremost in my thoughts above all other
“Write” has got me into trouble and has kept me clean
And it’s “Write” that keeps me sane in here when all the world’s obscene

Words that flow right off my hand fly faster than no other
I can’t just let you see right in, these words give me some cover
So if you’re gonna dive right in then love me like no other
‘Cause I spend my time just writin’ and I’m done with endless fodder

“Write’s” the word that Vernie passed to me through Nel’s kind hand
So I’m just gonna keep on writing all that you can stand
Take my words for what they are or take them how you want them
But remember they’re my children and just let them know you love them

Words that flow right off my hand fly faster than no other
I can’t just let you see right in, these words give me some cover
So if you’re gonna dive right in then love me like no other
‘Cause I need a jolt of passion not an unrequited lover

“Write” is what’s emblazoned here upon this shy book cover
“Write” is what is foremost in my thoughts above all other
“Write” has got me into trouble and has kept me clean
And it’s “Write” that keeps me sane in here when all the world’s obscene
Oh yes it’s “Write” that keeps me sane in here when all the world’s obscene

  • Everlasting Vixen

Originally published online July 4, 2017 & in the print collection Photographic Memories: Deux Mille Dix-Sept — available here

How I feel most every day is something that’s not written
I put these feelings out there but so many more are hidden
I’m not quite sure just what to do but soon I’m sure I’ll burst
If I don’t just swallow all this pride and let you quench your thirst

I need another savior ‘cause I’m just not over you
I’ve analyzed my problem ‘til it’s eyeballed through and through
But somehow I can’t ever find the thing that’s gonna fix it
You’re the bane of my existence and my everlasting vixen

I’m keepin’ mostly to myself just tryin’ to keep from drownin’
I’m barely treadin’ water but can hide if I’m not frownin’
I’m spendin’ mostly all my time just tryin’ to keep me busy
Just a-tryin’ to keep from wonderin’ if you’re ever gonna miss me

I need another savior ‘cause I’m just not over you
I’ve analyzed my problem ‘til it’s eyeballed through and through
But somehow I can’t ever find the thing that’s gonna fix it
You’re the bane of my existence and my everlasting vixen

Oh I need another savior ‘cause I’m just not over you
I’ve analyzed my problems ‘til they’re eyeballed through and through
But somehow I can’t ever find the thing that’s gonna fix it
You’re the bane of my existence and my everlasting vixen

Oh the bane of my existence and my everlasting vixen

  • These Eyes

Originally published online June 21, 2017 & in the print collection Photographic Memories: Deux Mille Dix-Sept — available here

I’m not sure how you see so still, my eyes are always dancing
No matter if I stand or sit, my pupils are romancing
I’m never solely in the dark, my visual snow enhances
A green cyan magenta veil, it dances and entrances

These eyes, these eyes they dance and sway
Inside their skull all locked away
And oh I’d like to set them free
But here they stay more me than me

Some say I see too much I guess, but all of them walk blindly
Then any little trouble stirs, they run to come and find me
I try to close these lids at night, insomnia scoffs loudly
And even if I glue them shut, night terrors rise up proudly

These eyes, these eyes they dance and sway
Inside this skull all locked away
And how I’d love to set them free
But here they stay more me than me

No matter if I stand or sit, my pupils are romancing
These irises can’t take a break, my peepers keep on dancing
And though I’d like to just forget and walk through this life blindly
No matter if I stand or sit my inner eye reminds me

These eyes, these eyes they dance and sway
Inside this skull all locked away
And how I’d love to set them free
But here they stay more me than me

These eyes, these eyes they dance and sway
Inside this skull all locked away
And how I’d love to set them free
But here they stay more me than me

  • Seed Guzzler Part Fournicate: The Christian Casanova

Originally published online June 18, 2017 & in the print collection Seed Guzzler: And Other Succubi — available here

Sly as a fox and shady as fuck
Climbin’ the ladder with way more than luck
He is a dick ‘cause you are what you eat
He’s the evilest evil you ever did meet

He’s a chameleon and likes all your loves
He snorts coke off hookers then speaks anti-drug
He is a snake with a venomous slither
His pearly white plastic smile makes my soul shiver

He flashes those pearlies and claims to be Christian
Confesses his sins and assumes he’s forgiven
Then he runs right out to go sin some more
‘Cause he thinks he’s Madonna but he’s just the Whore

He buttons his shirt up and heads into work
Where everyone knows he’s a poisonous jerk
‘Cause some of the bullshit he hides with his charms
But the rest sticks right out like a cold sore alarm

Treatment of others was made just for him
Still his big white teeth shine like a windowless van
He personifies date rape and thinks no means yes
Then he points at his wife when his home life’s a mess

He flashes those pearlies and claims to be Christian
Confesses his sins and assumes he’s forgiven
Then he runs right out to go sin some more
‘Cause he thinks he’s Madonna but he’s just the Whore

Now mind you don’t fret, child, karma will get him
Something this evil’s what heaven won’t let in
‘Til then mind your daughters and keep them with care
Cover them up and pin back their hair

Make them look plain, it’s their only defense
‘Cause the evils of this world will never makes sense
Cuddle them close and just try to protect them
Then pray they won’t be this charmed Juggalos next victim

He flashes those pearlies and claims to be Christian
Confesses his sins and assumes he’s forgiven
Then he runs right out to go sin some more
‘Cause he thinks he’s Madonna but he’s just the Whore

Yes he thinks he’s Madonna but he’s just the Whore
He’s a pride filled vain junkie material girl
He’s The Brain without Pinky tryin’ to conquer the world
Yes he thinks he’s Madonna but he’s just the Whore

  • Endless Motions

Originally published online June 13, 2017 & in the print collection Photographic Memories: Deux Mille Dix-Sept — available here

    Endlessly I go through motions
    Feeling nothing like emotions
    Tired of crossing over oceans
Just to please your endless notions

I’m so sick I just can’t stand it
    Paranoia’s roots are planted
    Now I’m leavin’ empty handed
Too late now these scars are branded

Maybe I just want to cry
The gleam is gone within my eye
But somehow I still got the shine
I’m hidin’ it so it stays mine

    Endlessly I go through motions
    Feeling nothing like emotions
    Tired of crossing over oceans
Just to please your endless notions

I’ve been nothing less than candid
Still you’ve gone and left me stranded
Piece of trash that you abandoned
I’m the beast and you’re enchanted

Maybe I just want to cry
The gleam is gone within my eye
But somehow I still got the shine
I’m hidin’ it so it stays mine

Maybe I just want to die
Gouge that gleam out in my eye
Make it done and end the lie
And set my simple soul on fire

Set my simple soul on fire
Set my simple soul on fire

  • Saving You Won’t Save My Soul

Originally published online June 12, 2017 & in the print collection Photographic Memories: Deux Mille Dix-Sept — available here

    Forgotten names I won’t remember
My heart’s cold just like December
Soul’s a pile of burning embers
Still I glow but you defend her

Walked away but still I linger
    Never wanted to see clearer
Here I stand now, I’m your mirror
All these lies you see go deeper

Wish I may and wish I might
    Be myself alone tonight
‘Cause anytime that you get near
My whole body’s filled with fear

Wish I may and wish I might
    Be myself alone tonight
‘Cause I still care more than you know
But saving you won’t save my soul

You still wish you were her dinner
Scared that she is gettin’ thinner
But you lost and she’s the winner
Might as well have stuck it in her

Still I sit here and I linger
    Wishing you’d stop pointing fingers
Your white wash won’t make her cleaner
Tired of eyes that only see her

Wish I may and wish I might
    Be myself alone tonight
‘Cause anytime that you get near
My whole body’s filled with fear

Wish I may and wish I might
    Be myself alone tonight
‘Cause I still care more than you know
But saving you won’t save my soul

Absence makes the heart grow stoic
    Sympathy’s just not heroic
If I ever have to miss you
Ice cold nothing’s all I cling to

    Universal dried up wasteland
Holds my universe in its hands
It’s too dark for me to breathe here
Visual snow won’t let me see clear

Let me go, don’t let me go
I need to need more than I show
Let me go, don’t let me go
Or else I’m gonna lose control

Pumped up products of our upkeep
Makes our softened hearts and souls weep
But these tears are mostly harmless
Given what our standards cost us

It’s a price we paid with sin and
I should never let you in
    Vanity’s much worse than greed
I can’t have you but you can’t leave

Let me go, don’t let me go
I need to need more than I show
Let me go, don’t let me go
Or else I’m gonna lose control

Let me go, don’t let me go
I need to need more than I show
Let me go, don’t let me go
Or else I’m gonna lose control
