Drivin’ for Miles by Melodie Yvonne

There’s an ocean of fear right at my surface
Keep asking myself if all of it’s worth it
I’m just so damn sick of all of this hurtin’
So please just reject me so I can be certain

Gets harder and harder to go on this way
I’m drivin’ for miles just to hear what you’ll say
I’m drivin’ for miles hoping you’ll look my way
Then all of these fears just make me turn away

I’m just so damn scared of all of these feelings
It just takes one look and you got my mind reeling
Can’t think what to say ‘cause I’m wanting to touch you
I just wish I knew if you’re feeling these vibes too

Tired of this wishin’ and tired of confusion
Tired of this lustin’ and wonderin’ what you’re doing
Feel like a Molotov cocktail been shelved
And if I don’t burst soon I just might throw myself

Gets harder and harder to go on this way
I’m drivin’ for miles just to hear what you’ll say
I’m drivin’ for miles hoping you’ll look my way
Then all of these fears just get in my way

I’m scared of these feelings and scared you’ll reject me
Scared ‘cause there’s no one left here to protect me
Scared that I’ll get you, but scared that I’ll lose you
So I just keep driving for miles to be near you

It’s harder and harder to go on this way
I’m drivin’ for miles just to hear what you’ll say
I’m drivin’ for miles hoping you’ll look my way
‘Til all of these fears just make me turn away

Until all of these fears just get in my way

Please Stay, Go Away by Melodie Yvonne

I’m so friggin’ sad my heart breaks every day
I pray and I pray, but it won’t go away
And all of my tears they just get in the way
I just want you to leave, but I want you to stay

I wish I could think of just one thing to say
But all of my thoughts they just get in the way
I wish we could be like we were in the days
Before all of the heartache that led us astray

I wanna believe it’ll all be ok
I wanna believe everything that you say
But life ripped my heart out and threw it away
Now my mind is just broken and full of decay

I’m so friggin’ sad my heart breaks every day
I pray and I pray, but it won’t go away
And all of my tears they just get in the way
I just want you to leave, but I want you to stay

I just wanna sleep, but I’m stuck wide awake
I don’t wanna see you, but I miss your face
I’m feelin’ so stupid like one of your games
Where you made up the rules and I don’t wanna play

I wish I could die make it all go away
I think if I give you more I’m gonna break
But I just can’t stop, I just can’t turn away
‘Cause as much as I fight it He made me this way

I’m so friggin’ sad my heart breaks every day
I pray and I pray, but it won’t go away
And all of my tears they just get in the way
I just want you to leave, but I want you to stay

I just want you to be here, but please go away

  • Tired of Dreaming

Tired of Dreaming by Melodie Yvonne

You were in my dream again here just the other day
I prayed to God again today to make it go away
‘Cause if I just can’t have you then I’d like to have my way
And you just can’t stand there ghosting me and beggin’ me to stay

I wasn’t quite awake and yet I wasn’t quite asleep
And there you were without a word a presence felt so deep
I knew that it was you because you didn’t miss a beat
And now I’m clinging to imaginary memories I can’t keep

“Cause you were in my dream again here just the other day
I prayed to God again today to make it go away
‘Cause if I just can’t have you then I’ll just be on my way
And you just can’t stand there ghosting me and beggin’ me to stay

I’m trying not to see you but your smile it melts my heart
Your touch is like a pull cord and it’s giving me a start
And now I just keep thinking ‘bout you every time we part
But I know I just come with the frame and you’re a work of art

I wanna close my eyes again and feel your scruffy face
I wanna close my eyes again and feel your strong embrace
But wide awake I know that I just need to learn my place
And all these thoughts I overanalyze I need to just erase

You were in my dream again here just the other day
I prayed to God again today to make it go away
‘Cause if I just can’t have you then I’d like to have my way
And you just can’t stand there ghosting me and beggin’ me to stay

No you just can’t stand there ghosting me and beggin’ me to stay

Sometimes It’s Too Late by Melodie Yvonne

Sometimes it’s so hard to trust in my fate
I’ve sure learned a lot, but not how to wait
Sometimes my cold heart freezes with hate
And I worry tomorrow’s already too late

Sometimes I just sit and cry to myself
‘Cause I know that it’s too late for me to get help
Ridiculous dreaming is all that I’ve felt
My high expectations teeter on my shelf

Sometimes I just lay there awake in my dream
Knowing that nobody is what they seem
I’d rather have dirty than truth that’s unclean
Fuck all your perfect and give me obscene

Sometimes it’s so hard to trust in my fate
I’ve sure learned a lot, but not how to wait
Sometimes my cold heart freezes with hate
And I worry tomorrow’s already too late

  • Fading Away

    Fading Away by Melodie Yvonne

Your face is in the picture of my mind still all the time
The way you make me feel I swear I thought I’d never find
I think about the ways I wish that I could make you mine
And I don’t know how much longer I can keep on toein’ this line

I try to not think of you and how all you are is real
I try to just not think about these crazy things I feel
I pray that it just goes away so I don’t have to deal
But I’m just a lil wimpy thing and now I’m your last meal

I thought I saw inside your heart and how it looked like mine
But you had yours all locked away somewhere I couldn’t find
I wasted parts of me while you just sat and wasted time
And now everyday these everythings are so real in my mind

You never gave me anything you’d ever have to feel
You never gave me any hope that you were all for real
But how could I have known your heart’s on loan and made of steel
And now all that I can do is fade away and try to heal

  • Looking Away

    Looking Away by Melodie Yvonne

I can’t forget myself with you ‘cause there’s no telling what I’d do
I just can’t look you in the eye ‘cause it’s the drug that gets me high
I’m just here thinkin’ ‘bout your touch and how I crave it oh so much
I just can’t wait to see your face so I can look the other way

‘Cause, baby, if I catch your eye the sky’s the limit, I’m so high
I’m lost inside those pretty blues and suddenly it’s just us two
And, baby, it’s a long goodbye when you got me electrified
And I just think ‘bout all I’d do, so I just best not look at you

Darlin’ you just got me wanton with that sexy brain you’re flaunting
You’re a hooker in a red dress beggin’ me to take a taste test
Just the simple thought of you has got me ‘bout to come unglued
You’re the bane of my existence and I’m losin’ all resistance

Baby, if I catch your eye the sky’s the limit, I’m so high
I’m just thinkin’ ’bout those blues and suddenly it’s just us two
And now I’m all electrified, I’m ‘bout to burst and I can’t hide
That I just think ‘bout all I’d do, so I just best not look at you

I best not look right at your face, I better not get in your space
I gotta keep that three inch bubble, peep your peepers through the Hubble
Or I don’t know what I’d do ‘cause I just wanna melt with you
And fuse together our vibrations ‘til we make a revelation

Baby, if I catch your eye the sky’s the limit, I’m so high
I’m lost inside those pretty blues and suddenly it’s just us two
And, baby, it’s a long goodbye when you got me electrified
And I just think ‘bout all I’d do, so I just best not look at you

    Vernie’s Garden by Melodie Yvonne
“Vernie’s Garden” is inspired by and dedicated to Nel Hoon and Vernie Long ❤ ❤ ❤

    A move from Wells to Vernie’s garden’s
just the place to start restarting
It’s the kind of place that finds you,
gots the kind of love that binds you
    It’s a home and it’s a song
that helps you move your life along
And if you keep it simple, stupid,
this home warms your heart like Cupid

Now’s the time for me to move on
down to Vernie’s place I’m goin’
    Everything I’ve ever wanted’s
right back where my love first started

It’s the now, and it’s the echo
of a life I just can’t let go
And I really wouldn’t want to
    walk away from Vernie’s garden
So I pack my stuff and head down
to North 16th, and my heart pounds
‘Cause my load is kinda heavy,
but I’m way passed good and ready

Now’s the time for me to move on
down to Vernie’s place I’m goin’
    Everything I’ve ever wanted’s
right back where my love first started

Now’s the time for me to move on
down to Vernie’s place I’m goin’
    Everything I’ve ever wanted’s
right back there in Vernie’s garden

    Simple Things by Melodie Yvonne

I dream this lonely dream I’m in, I’m waitin’ for your face
I’m waitin’ to be next to you, and fill this empty space

I wanna be so close to you, but I just don’t know how
So I pump that volume next to me ’til all my thoughts are drowned

My heart keeps growin’ bluer, and my lungs are turnin’ green
Still I can’t get you off my mind, it’s all those simple things

It’s every word you said to me, and every word you don’t
It’s when you’re sidled next to me that I feel most at home

And home is where the heart is, so my heart’s right there with you
In that dimly lit hotel room somewhere just right passed the moon

My heart keeps growin’ bluer, and my heads not where it seems
I just can’t get you off my mind, it’s all those simple things

It’s all the ways you look at me, and everything you do
In that dimly lit hotel room somewhere just right passed the moon

Yeah my heart keeps growin’ bluer everyday you’re not around
I still can’t dig you out my mind ‘cause you’re so underground

I just wanna be near you, and I don’t wanna come down
So I stick that needle on, and pump the volume on the sound

My heart keeps growin’ bluer, and my lungs are turnin’ green
Still I can’t get you off my mind, it’s all those simple things

It’s all the things you said to me, and everything that’s you
In that dimly lit hotel room somewhere just right passed the moon

    Control by Melodie Yvonne

When I’m thinking ‘bout you are you thinking ‘bout me too?
When I’m all here flustered can you feel what I can do?
When I close my eyes and feel you deep down in my soul
Do you feel me somewhere with you there about to lose control?

My skin tingles all over at the thought of just your touch
It’s like an addict’s fever ‘cause I’m wantin’ you so much
And even if I let myself feel you until the end
It just starts right on back over and I’m wantin’ you again

When I’m thinking ‘bout you are you thinking ‘bout me too?
When I’m all here flustered can you feel what I can do?
When I close my eyes and feel you deep down in my soul
Do you feel me somewhere with you there about to lose control?

I’m just overheated and I’m wantin’ you so much
I promise what I got to offer would be quite enough
But if you let me offer somethin’ just a little more
I’d be everything you wanted, your Madonna and your whore

When I’m thinking ‘bout you are you thinking ‘bout me too?
When I’m all here flustered can you feel what I can do?
When I close my eyes and feel you deep down in my soul
Do you feel me somewhere with you there about to lose control?

‘Cause all I want is just to be there ‘bout to lose control
An infinite amount of you way deep down in my soul
A universe of us just on the verge of letting go
Do you feel me somewhere with you there about to lose control ?

    Again by Melodie Yvonne

I don’t wanna live inside this sin I’m living in
I don’t wanna lay awake reliving it again
I don’t wanna feel this breaking heart for one more day
I just wish there was a way that I could make it go away

These never ending nightmares replay deep inside my mind
Don’t dig in any deeper ‘cause you won’t like what you find
Depravity and soulless lust tattooed deep in my skin
It’s a never ending battle that I’m never gonna win

I wish there was a way that I could make it go away
I never sleep, but somehow I’m just sleeping life away
It’s gettin’ harder not to drink and piss it all away
But I just don’t wanna feel this breaking heart for one more day

I’m running out of duct tape and my soul is getting thin
I’ve always got my towel, but I’m about to throw it in
I’m moving way passed caution throwing panic to the wind
And I just don’t wanna feel this shit again again again

These never ending nightmares replay deep inside my mind
Don’t dig in any deeper ‘cause you’ll run from what you find
Depravity and soulless lust tattooed deep in my skin
It’s a never ending battle and I’m never gonna win

So I just keep right on doing it again again again
