Counting Seconds by Melodie Yvonne

Every other second I’m scared of you,
scared of what you could put me through,
frightened of what I might lose or gain,
terrified of hearing that old refrain.

Every other minute I’m needing you,
needing the feelings you put me through,
feeling the warmth inside your touch,
needing you achingly, wanting you much.

Every other hour I dream of you,
tossing and turning the thoughts ensue,
wishing and wanting for you to stay,
knowing you won’t and running away.

Every other day I’m missing you,
knowing I shouldn’t, but still I do,
missing your eyes, your voice, and touch,
maybe it’s caring, knowing it’s love.

Every other night I think of you,
Insomnia clouding dreams and true,
touch every inch of me dreaming it’s you,
‘til I drift off to sleep and time’s seconds renew…
