Words from a gonzoesque life in an oh so gonzoless world

Year Six

This piece will be in the upcoming collection Photographic Memories: Nein available here soon

Year Six

Heavy bags, they sat here weighting
On my mind they’re fabricating
That there’s some small part of you here
That you didn’t leave out of fear

I still think of what we were and
Wonder how I was so wrong and
Wonder if you could have loved me
If I hadn’t let you see things

If I hadn’t showed you only
the best parts of me are phony
Do you think you coulda loved me?
Could we maybe have been happy?

I know time regrettin’s wasted
And I know it’s complicated
Now I see I never knew you
and you never knew me too

If I could go back and change it
I don’t know if I could take it
Lettin’ you go all over twice
All those empty days and dark nights

And a part of me still loves you
Even though I know you love you
But I just can’t help remember
How you loved me in November
