A Begger’s Lament

I’m crying out to God today
Not sure I can go on
If I wasn’t scared of Hell
I’d already be gone

The sadness overwhelms me
A thick stew of regret
And through the tears it’s hard to see
the few things I got left

I just see my world crumbling
I’m drowning under it all
If I don’t find my balance soon
I fear I’m gonna fall

I’m crying out to God today
Please, Lord, make this right
‘Cause I just can’t keep
satiating Satan’s appetite

I’m crying out please help me
Lord, save me with Your grace
‘Cause my skin’s an empty husk
Just unrecycled waste

I’m drowning, but my soul is dry
I need Your oxygen
Please, Lord, take this pain away
Forgive me for my sins

Amen
