Moving Along by Melodie Yvonne

If only I could go back, and slip in between time’s little cracks
I don’t know if I’d change it, but maybe I just might not waste it
Wasted time here waitin’… spent too much time on expectations
Too much time down on my knees, polite and quiet, just tryin’ to please
And see it got me nowhere… a waste of space… takin’ up air
A punchline that you quote… then sit and laugh while I lose hope

But I am what I made me… a mess of words I wrote while waiting
Screamed into the silence, but echoed words don’t heal the quiet
And I’m not sure I got out of all those years trapped in this house
‘Cause here’s still where I sit… wonderin’ if I wasted it
And here’s still where I stay, year after year I type away
A circle in my madness swirling infinite colors of sadness

That I look back and say… did I waste those years that got away?
