Huffing Fumes by Melodie Yvonne

My pumpin’ heart’s so loud here in this quiet, lonely house
The passing cars light up the walls and splash it all around
The crickets getting louder still don’t cover up my sin
And I can’t believe I banged my head against this wall again

The bottle’s in the other room alive and chillin’ out
My girl in Alabama got Xanax on tap like stout
And all I gotta do is get some drive to drive some time
Then I’m in over my head again like sis at 5 & Dime

I’m numb as fuck, but still somehow still feelin’ all the pain
I wouldn’t take it back, though, I’d still feel it all again
‘Cause with this crushing sadness comes my very favorite sin
And I’d rip out my own fucking heart to go back there again

I try to push, but everything just pushes back at me
I try to float away, but still somehow just fallin’ free
Please just let me stay I know it’s over when I leave
You choke me out, but you’re the only air I need to breathe

My pumpin’ heart’s so loud here in this quiet, lonely house
The passing cars light up the walls and splash it all around
The crickets gettin’ louder still don’t cover up my sin
But I’d rip out my own fucking heart to be with you again
