How to Dodge a Broken Heart by Melodie Yvonne

Every time I fall in love I always fall apart
I always get a lil scared and then break my own heart
The crazy things I do for love could be a work of art
Or a cautionary tale on how to dodge a broken heart

Do all the things I say, but not a single one I do
Lock away your heart and hide the key for only you
It may be kinda lonely, but my favorite color’s blue
So, a lil bit of lonely don’t hurt more than losin’ you

Lock away your heart and hide the key for only you
If you’re scared he’ll call it quits just go ahead and say, “We’re through!”
Do everything I say, but not a single thing I do
‘Cause my actions are a’screamin’ that I’m just not over you

Every time I fall in love I bend until I break
And even while I’m bendin’ I just know it’s a mistake
I give and give and give and you just take and take and take
‘Til my poor pathetic heart just sits and aches and aches and aches

Do everything I say, but not a single thing I do
Every time you breathe, inhale that breath for only you
Keep your heart all tucked inside a room without a view
‘Cause a lil bit of lonely don’t hurt more than losin’ you

Every time I fall in love I always fall apart
I always get a little scared and then break my own heart
The crazy things I do for love could be a work of art
Or a cautionary tale on how to dodge a broken heart
