Tired of Dreaming by Melodie Yvonne

You were in my dream again here just the other day
I prayed to God again today to make it go away
‘Cause if I just can’t have you then I’d like to have my way
And you just can’t stand there ghosting me and beggin’ me to stay

I wasn’t quite awake and yet I wasn’t quite asleep
And there you were without a word a presence felt so deep
I knew that it was you because you didn’t miss a beat
And now I’m clinging to imaginary memories I can’t keep

“Cause you were in my dream again here just the other day
I prayed to God again today to make it go away
‘Cause if I just can’t have you then I’ll just be on my way
And you just can’t stand there ghosting me and beggin’ me to stay

I’m trying not to see you but your smile it melts my heart
Your touch is like a pull cord and it’s giving me a start
And now I just keep thinking ‘bout you every time we part
But I know I just come with the frame and you’re a work of art

I wanna close my eyes again and feel your scruffy face
I wanna close my eyes again and feel your strong embrace
But wide awake I know that I just need to learn my place
And all these thoughts I overanalyze I need to just erase

You were in my dream again here just the other day
I prayed to God again today to make it go away
‘Cause if I just can’t have you then I’d like to have my way
And you just can’t stand there ghosting me and beggin’ me to stay

No you just can’t stand there ghosting me and beggin’ me to stay
