Know What It’s Like by Melodie Yvonne

Do you know what it’s like to have a gun to your head
Stuck there in the middle of the night by a friend?
Do you know what it’s like to sleep with a knife
After some worthless piece of shit threatens your life?

Well I do
Yeah I do

Do you know what it’s like to fear for your life
When you’re stuck wide awake in your bed every night?

Well I do
Yeah I do

Do you know what it’s like to be raped by a friend
And then told that it’s mostly your fault in the end?

Well I do
Yeah I do

Do you know what it’s like when meth takes a child’s life
And you can’t bring them back with all of your might?
Do you know what it’s like when you think it’s your fault
‘Cause you lived in denial ‘til everything’s lost?

Well I do
Yeah I do

Do you know what it’s like to reach your wit’s end
And not even care if you have any friends?

Well I do
Yeah I do

But do you know what it’s like to get over your fright
When you realize that these bad things don’t define life?

Well I do
Yeah I do
