Human Just Like Me by Melodie Yvonne

It breaks my heart still every day to know that I won’t see your face
I still see it inside my mind and my heart aches still all the time
I don’t know how I loved so much for someone who I’ve never touched
I didn’t know that there could be another human just like me

Your eyes match mine with every step even though they’re in my head
Your heartbeat’s tempo matches mine even when it’s outta line
Your smile it smiles right back at me, your arms wrap ’round but set me free
You still dance ‘round inside my mind and my heart aches still all the time

See this is life not in my dreams and nothing here is what it seems
This world has made us strive for perfect ‘til it isn’t even worth it
And your heart still touches mine but runs away still every time
And all I have is in my dreams and this worn pile of memories

It breaks my heart still every day to know that I won’t see your face
I still see it inside my mind and my heart aches still all the time
I don’t know how I love so much for someone who I’ve never touched
I didn’t know that there could be another human just like me
