Lost Human Race by Melodie Yvonne
I’m lost in a soup of confusion and sadness that melts away my mind until dawn
I’m lost here ‘tween tryin to stay sane and just madness and I’m doin’ everything wrong
And each time I close up my peepers for answers all I can see is your face
I’ve lost all I’ve gained and I’m coming in last in this horribly lost human race
I feel like I been here again and again, a wormhole on a loop that I’m trapped in
I look ‘round for comfort and find I’m alone but I just don’t know how all this happened
What started for fun turned out just fun for you and I’m trippin’ up tryin to keep pace
Now I’ve lost all I gained and still coming in last in this horribly lost human race
Now don’t think I blame you I know it’s my fault that I dragged you along for the ride
I knew long ago that there’d be no one here when I wanted you here by my side
But I was so wrong it’s better to be gone than a sprinter just joggin’ in place
So I’m runnin away ‘cause I’ve done had enough of this horribly lost human race
