How Am I Gonna Forget ‘Bout You by Melodie Yvonne

Bent and broken, ripped and torn
I forgot what love is for
Unattended and abused
Maybe just a little used
Then I see you standing there
And suddenly you’re all I care
Then I see you standing there
So beautiful and unaware

How am I gonna forget ‘bout you
When all you are is all I do

I just keep on runnin’ away
It’s easier than what I got to say
I’m tryin’ not to look at you
‘Cause your gaze owns me through and through
How’d I get so freakin’ stupid
I know better than to believe in cupid
How do I get past all this hoping
When all I want’s for you to want me

How am I gonna forget ‘bout you
When all you are is all I do
How am I gonna forget ‘bout you
When I know that my heart is true
How am I gonna forget ‘bout you
When all you are is all I do
How am I gonna forget ‘bout you
When all you are is all I am too

Your song aches like a flame that refuses to dim,
teaching that love’s shadow lingers where memory and being intertwine.
