Words from a gonzoesque life in an oh so gonzoless world

I Wish You

Originally published online Nov 20, 2017 & in the collection Photographic Memories: Deux Mille Dix-Sept — available here

What I wish I truly do
Is just to be alone with you
For just a glance in my direction
I would give all my affection

What I wish I truly do
Is just to mean something to you
And if I had to give up something
I’d just end it all with nothing

What I wish I truly do
Is just to wrap my heart round you
But you’re just something more than perfect
And I know I’m just not worth it

What I wish I truly do
Is just to lose myself in you
But you know better than to let me
You know better ‘cause you get me

What I wish I truly do
Is that I couldn’t see through you
But maybe I’m just goin’ crazy
And now even you can’t save me

What I wish I truly do
Is just to end it all with you
Before you take back all you gave me
‘Cause you see me going crazy

What I wish I truly do
Is just to be alone with you
For just a glance in my direction
I would give all my affection

What I wish I truly do is you
