Words from a gonzoesque life in an oh so gonzoless world

Pariah

Originally published online July 20, 2017 & in the print collection Photographic Memories: Deux Mille Dix-Sept — available here

I’ve got a sickness like I’m a pariah
I can’t control myself
Wanna get higher

I can’t escape from this life how I’ve made it
But I just can’t give up
And I’ll never trade it

Feelin’ so lonely’s the cost of my dreams
Tryin’ to win love I’ve done terrible things
But I’ll never give up until I’m a-flyin’
‘Cause if I’m not livin’ I’d rather be dyin’

I’ve got a sickness like I’m a possession
Tryin’ not to be someone’s
Crazy obsession

But now it’s too late I’ve done learned my lessons
I wanna be me
I don’t need your suggestions

Feelin’ so lonely’s the cost of my dreams
Tryin’ to win love I’ve done terrible things
But I’ll never give up until I’m a-flyin’
‘Cause if I’m not livin’ I’d rather be dyin’

‘Cause if I’m not livin’ I’d rather be dyin’
