Dead in My Head by Melodie Yvonne
Lost scraps of paper float through the wind
Wondering if I’ll ever see them again
Lost bits of memory flow through my mind
I try to forget and leave them behind
Your words fill my ears from inside my head
To listen again or leave them for dead
You’re just like my words that float through the air
Not looking back not stopping to care
Wanna be with you, but just in my head
My heart is just broken and left me for dead
You never heard the words that I said
My soul is all homeless, my body’s been bled
Landscapes fly by the windshield in my mind
I rev the engine then leave them behind
Try to steer clear of these spots that are blind
Moving my mirrors ‘til I change what I find
Try to speed up troubles stay right behind
With my one sided reflective memories mind
Tryin’ to erase all the bad I let in
But cleaning the mind doesn’t undo the sins
Wanna be with you, but just in my head
My heart is just broken and left me for dead
You never heard the words that I said
My soul is all homeless, my body’s been bled
Wanna be with you, but just in my head
My heart is all broken, just leave me for dead
You never heard the words that I said
Now your body is homeless ’cause my soul’s been bled
Now we are both soulless ‘cause we are both dead
