Material Lord by Melodie Yvonne
This hometown feeling’s a pit in my soul
It keeps me reeling and ready to go
An illegal alien to all those I know
They watch and they gasp at my mobile freakshow
Feed me the Lord ’cause you think it’ll fix me
I’m filled to the brim with your gluttonous teachings
but I’m not your whore and you can’t unbreak me
and all this material shit I don’t envy
Where am I at if I don’t have a home?
A pile of crap and I’m chewin’ on bones
What do I do with this knowledge I know?
Throw it away ’cause the listener’s broke
Feed me the Lord ’cause you think it’ll fix me
I’m filled to the brim with your gluttonous teachings
but I’m not your whore and you can’t unbreak me
and all this material shit just don’t faze me
You claim no religion, I say you’re a fraud
You say my depression is spiritual fog
Well, not once in this life did you spare the rod
so I’ll never trade my Dog for your God
Feed me the Lord ’cause you think it’ll fix me
I’m filled to the brim with your gluttonous teachings
but I’m not your whore and you can’t unbreak me
Your bullshit material world will not change me
