I’d Rather Be Angry by Melodie Yvonne

Drinkin’ that tequila that I did that night with you
You was done with me before we drank that bottle through
And maybe I ain’t finished ‘cause I’m hopin’ you’ll turn back
But tonight feels kinda different and my hope’s gone all off track

If I could count the distance that is keepin’ me from you
The count’d go forever ‘cause you pull back like you do
And every time it feels like you have finally come around
You turn right back away and light speed right on outta town

My heart’s still right here on my sleeve for you to take or leave it
Just save me all that bullshit where you say it isn’t me and
Tell me if you can’t move on then why can’t we just try it
‘Cause I’m so sick of missin’ you and I’m done tryin’ to fight it

If I could count the distance that is keepin’ me from you
It’d be a CVS receipt that goes around the moon
And every time it feels like you have finally closed that gap
You run right back away and leave me wishin’ you’d turn back

Why can’t you just give me a chance ‘cause I won’t ever leave ya
Don’t keep pushin’ me away ‘cause you think we’ll all be her
Or maybe I’m not good enough and you just plain can’t say it
But either way I’m tired of games ‘cause I’m no good at playin’

If I could count the distance that is keepin’ me from you
The count’d go forever ‘cause you pull back like you do
And this evenin’s kinda special better have another round
‘Cause this time you hit light speed, love, without makin’ a sound
