Taking A Swim by Melodie Yvonne

Swimming in a sea of endless negativity
I’m drowning
Crying and praying for just a breath of air
Wishing you had dug a little just until you found me
But I had to save myself ‘cause you weren’t there

Clawing my way out of all this self-inflicted doubt
gets harder
How does it hurt more each passing day?
Filled with deep regret for all the things I don’t confess
And all this pain inside me just won’t go away

I try to wear a smile but it only lasts a while
I’m fakin’
Hidin’ in these walls that just get higher
Finally get some air but feel like no one really cares I waste it
Usin’ it as fuel to fan my fire

Swimming in a sea of endless negativity
I’m drowning
Crying and praying for just a breath of air
Wishing you had dug a little just until you found me
But I had to save myself ‘cause you weren’t there

Swimming in a sea of endless negativity
I’m drowning
Crying and praying for just a breath of air
Wishing you had dug a little just until you found me
Now I’m tryin’ to save myself ‘cause you’re not here
