Doing sweet things though you don’t hear a sound
Give their last breath if they know you’re gonna drown
They’re angels in human clothes walking around

Smiling so hard so you won’t see their frown
Their lives might be hard but you won’t know they’re down
Angels in human clothes walking around
Angels in human clothes walking around
They come in all sizes and shapes, gaunt and round
Guardians tailored to keep you safe and sound
Angels in human clothes walking around
Angels in human clothes walking around
They spread words of hope, turn the lost into found
They’ll tell you they love you and you’re makin’ ‘em proud
Angels in human clothes walking around
It’s harder to hear the real truth than the lies
So it’s easier to live without opening your eyes
But they’ll be there to help you no matter the prize
First to start diggin’ when you’re buried alive

One foot up in heaven and one on the ground
They’ll give you their throne and then hand you their crown

Your fake thoughts and prayers draw them in like a hound
Your self-righteous bullshit is makin’ ‘em proud

You’d see all the signs if you’d open your eyes
They stick right on out of their flimsy disguise
But most shut their lids ‘cause denial’s a prize
And just bury their heads in abominable lies
Demons in human clothes walkin’ around
