Words from a gonzoesque life in an oh so gonzoless world

Lookin’ At Stars, Lookin’ At You

Originally published online July 16, 2017 & in the print collection Photographic Memories: Deux Mille Dix-Sept — available here

I miss the starlit sky at night
All blinded by these city lights
That sky I could just watch for miles
And dream of days I was a child

And feel those feelings all again
Before we lost our innocence
And feel the way I sometimes do
When lookin’ through these eyes at you

Give me now just one more second
Please don’t leave me here just beggin’
Let me feel the way I do
Lookin’ at stars, lookin’ at you

Is there anybody else
That feels the way that I have felt
Just geekin’ on that clear night sky
Forever’s just a blinking eye

Just prayin’ to get lost in space
Like when im lookin’ in your face
And wishin’ far away the dawn to
Dream of you a little longer

Give me now just one more second
Please don’t leave me here just beggin’
Let me feel the way I do
Lookin’ at stars, lookin’ at you

Give me now just one more second
Please don’t leave me here just beggin’
Let me feel the way I do
Lookin’ at stars, lookin’ at you

Just let me feel the way I do
Lookin’ at stars, lookin’ at you
