Words from a gonzoesque life in an oh so gonzoless world

Endless Motions

Originally published online June 13, 2017 & in the print collection Photographic Memories: Deux Mille Dix-Sept — available here

Endlessly I go through motions
Feeling nothing like emotions
Tired of crossing over oceans
Just to please your endless notions

I’m so sick I just can’t stand it
Paranoia’s roots are planted
Now I’m leavin’ empty handed
Too late now these scars are branded

Maybe I just want to cry
The gleam is gone within my eye
But somehow I still got the shine
I’m hidin’ it so it stays mine

Endlessly I go through motions
Feeling nothing like emotions
Tired of crossing over oceans
Just to please your endless notions

I’ve been nothing less than candid
Still you’ve gone and left me stranded
Piece of trash that you abandoned
I’m the beast and you’re enchanted

Maybe I just want to cry
The gleam is gone within my eye
But somehow I still got the shine
I’m hidin’ it so it stays mine

Maybe I just want to die
Gouge that gleam out in my eye
Make it done and end the lie
And set my simple soul on fire

Set my simple soul on fire
Set my simple soul on fire
