Words from a gonzoesque life in an oh so gonzoless world

Meticulous Ridiculous

Originally published online Oct 8, 2016 & in the print collection Photographic Memories: The Neverending Sequel — available here

I know I’m quite ridiculous
but really I’m meticulous
‘bout all the little things I do to please you

And once upon a little while
I do my most to make you smile
‘cause seeing your sweet face makes me inclined to

I wish someday I would get real
and stop this crazy shit I feel
these molehills into mountains I must hike through

Bipolar happy mediums
are still my only closest friends
and all I am is what I am designed to

So now I must erase your face
and put me back into my place
rebuild these concrete walls that you can’t cut through

I’ll galvanize this little heart
and make you stop before you start
and hide my stealthy heart from you in plain view
