Words from a gonzoesque life in an oh so gonzoless world

Lazy

Originally published online May 25, 2016 & in the print collection Photographic Memories: The Neverending Sequel — available here

I’m waitin’ and wishin’ & breathin’ while dreamin’
And keepin’ my mind safe from all other demons
I’m lusting and longing since first time I met you
I’m not quite sure why, but I just can’t forget you

Lazy my mind won’t stop thinkin’ ‘bout you
Besides if it did, what would I do?

I tasted the water, and now I’m here drowning
Intuition is thick, but I’m treading here doubting
I look up, and hope that your blue eyes will save me
But the lower I’m sinking the more they get hazy

Lazy my mind won’t stop thinkin’ ‘bout you
Besides if it did, what would I do?

I’m lost, and somehow I’d hoped you would find me
But your light can’t break through this abyss that binds me
I’m fightin’ and finally my heads above water
I’ve built up my confidence, I’m a bit taller

Lazy my mind won’t stop thinkin’ ‘bout you
Besides if it did, what would I do?

I’m fixin’ to ramble where your grass is greener
‘Cause feedin’ my wanderlust frees my demeanor
But this is the last you I’m following blindly
I’m giving up you to get me back finally

‘Cause lazy my mind won’t stop thinkin’ ‘bout you
I’m a little bit scared, what do I do?
